The street vendors are a no-nonsense group selling snacks, handbags, underwear, pyjamas, household items, shoes clothing, other various household and personal items and night-blooming jasmine flower buds. You can also get there by taking the river ferry Tha Phra Athit.

Look for a tailor you can trust. None are "cheap" for sturdy quality-made items.

Khao San Road as well as the adjacent alley-ways are packed with inexpensive clothing, cheap tee-shirts, bootleg CDs, small wooden carvings of animals, hemp clothing, pillows, watches, pins, all the necessary backpacker travel items. Backpacker heaven.
