     Hotel Husa Oriente: Entrance
If you want to stay where the action is, then the Hotel Husa Oriente is the way to go.
Housed in a completely renovated 17th Century convent and located smack in the middle of Barcelona's main promenade, La Rambla, the three-star hotel brings together old-world elegance with modern flair. In the common areas, you'll find thick drapes, a marble staircase, chandeliers and other similar touches that tell stories of a bygone era. The rooms have a different kind of style, with natural light and sophisticated minimalism being the central themes.
Part of the locally-based Husa chain, the 142-room, three-star hotel is close to Plaça Reial (one of the main squares in this part of the city), the Liceu opera house and the Metro. You can choose a room facing the inside, former cloister (a quieter option), or enjoy the lively street scene with a balcony facing La Rambla. Either way, they are equipped with TV, telephone, security box, and heating, and room service is available. There is also an on-site restaurant with seating on the Rambla, which is where you'll want to sip some cava (sparking wine) or sangria and watch the 24-hour spectacle of everyday life go by in slow motion.
Prices run the gamut depending on the time of the year and demand. Typically, inside double rooms (either for single-person use or for two people) are about 118€, but could drop to 95€ in August when most people are staying seaside, or climb to more than 137€ during the busy spring, fall and conference seasons. If you want a room facing the Rambla, expect to tack on another 10€, and if you want to upgrade to a deluxe room, add 20€ to the base price. The Oriente also offers family rooms (up to 4 people), which run from 149€ to 211€.
