Lecker Bissen: Entrance
For a light and quick lunch in-between Pinakothek museum visits, head over to Lecker-Bissen on Theresienstrasse (open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.). With a focus on fresh ingredients, the shop serves up vegetarian food and the occasional salmon or tuna salad or casserole. It's a nice change of pace from Munich's traditional pork and sausages.

The specials rotate daily and include different kinds of pasta, salads, jambalaya, rice, potato or quiche-like options. Plan about 2€ for about a 100 grams of salad; 3.50€ for a good-size serving of soup, and just under 6€ for the "main" dishes.

There's a small standing-only area in the back for eating in. But, the better alternative is to have it packed up for take away and go picnic style on the lawn of the nearby Alte Pinakothek.
