Café Ignaz: Outdoor cafe
Tucked away on a quiet Schwabing street not far from the Alter Nordfriedhof (the tree-canopied old cemetery) is the charming Café Ignaz. The vegetarian/vegan café, bakery and restaurant exudes the "chill" vibe with its warm-color motif and Buddha statues.

There's usually a good buffet offering for lunch (5€ to 7€, depending on if you order a salad with it), with trays of pasta, potatoes and other vegetables to choose from. A la carte plates - which include stone oven pizza, gnocchi, rice dishes served up with Mediterranean or Asian flair - run 7€ to 12€. For lighter snacks, try the vegetable pie, spring rolls or one of the house salads. And, certainly don't leave without trying one of the tempting pastries lining the front shelves. The linzer tarts won't disappoint.

The place is small, so if you're going there for dinner, call ahead for a reservation.
