Hotel Hauser: EntranceHotel Hauser: Entrance
Hauser Hotel is similar to many of the Munich three-star hotels: family-run, moderately priced and plenty of amenities. In addition, it's got a great location going for it. Bordering the student Maxvorstadt and upscale Schwabing neighborhoods, there's lots to within walking distance from the Schellingstrasse hotel.

Family-owned for 70 years, Hauser has 33 single, double, triple and family rooms, complete with air conditioners, in-room bathroom facilities, cable TV, phone, radio, W-LAN access and soundproof windows. There's even a small garden terrace in the back.

Hotel Stefanie, which has been operating as a family-run hotel since the 1920s, is ideal jumping off point for exploring the busy Schwabing district or the serene Englischer Garten.

The rooms are fairly standard but comfortable and have sound-proof windows, a plus for blocking out the Türkenstrasse bar and restaurant noise. Some rooms have TV and phone, and there's Wireless LAN access in the building. Singles, doubles and triples with a bath or shower are available.

Base rates for singles range from 54€ to 77€ , and doubles start at 94€ and climb to 133€. For Oktoberfest or trade fairs, plan to tack on an additional 25%. Breakfast buffet included.

Hotel Kraft: LobbyHotel Kraft: Lobby
Centrally located, but away from the noise, Hotel Kraft has the Old World feel most travelers have come to expect from German three-star hotels.

The lobby area is warm and inviting, as is the staff. Rooms, however, are equally warm and spacious, and even street-facing rooms seem to be quiet. Singles, doubles and triples with in-room bathroom facilities are available. Prices start at 85€ for a single, and 100€ for the double. During trade fairs and Oktoberfest, the same rates climb to 160€ and 190€, respectively. Call ahead for rates and availability.
